Questions & Answers

Colorful "Forensikids" logo with DNA, magnifying glasses, fingerprints, and crime tools.

Is it safe?

Yes. All FORENSIKIDS workshops are designed specifically for children and use safe, age-appropriate materials and activities. Sessions are fully supervised, risk assessed, and delivered in a structured environment with safeguarding procedures in place.

Is it educational?

Absolutely. FORENSIKIDS combines hands-on fun with STEM learning, helping children develop skills in:

  • problem solving
  • observation
  • teamwork
  • critical thinking
  • scientific investigation

Children explore real forensic science concepts through interactive activities and experiments.

Is it scary?

No. Our workshops are designed to be exciting and engaging — not frightening. Activities focus on science, investigation, clues, and problem-solving rather than graphic crime scenes or scary content. Everything is kept age-appropriate and child-friendly.

What ages are the workshops for?

Our workshops are currently designed for children aged 8-12 years. We may introduce sessions for additional age groups in the future.

Who will be teaching the workshop?

All FORENSIKIDS sessions are currently led by our Founder & CEO, Nicola, who has both professional experience in forensic science and criminal investigation, as well as academic experience as a primary science teacher.

Are staff DBS checked?

Yes. All adults working directly with children are DBS checked, and safeguarding is a top priority at every FORENSIKIDS session.

What should children wear?

Children should wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical activities and experiments. Some activities can be a little messy, so we recommend avoiding very delicate or expensive clothing.
